چکیده

In the well-known Vehicle Routing Problem (VRP) a set of identical vehicles located at a central depot is to be optimally routed to supply customers with known demands subject to vehicle capacity constraints. An important variant of the VRP arises when a mixed fleet of vehicles, characterized by different capacities and costs, is available for distribution activities. The problem is known as Fleet Size and Mix VRP with Fixed Costs (FSMF) and has several practical applications. In this paper, we present a new mixed integer programming formulation for FSMF based on a two–commodity network flow approach. New valid inequalities are proposed to strengthen the linear programming relaxation of the mathematical formulation. The effectiveness of the proposed cuts is extensively tested on benchmark instances.

A New Mathematical Model for the Green Vehicle Routing Problem by Considering a Bi-Fuel Mixed Vehicle Fleet

This paper formulates a mathematical model for the Green Vehicle Routing Problem (GVRP), incorporating bi-fuel (natural gas and gasoline) pickup trucks in a mixed vehicle fleet. The objective is to minimize overall costs relating to service (earliness and tardiness), transportation (fixed, variable and fuel), and carbon emissions. To reflect a real-world situation, the study considers: (1) a co...

Three New Heuristic Algorithms For The Fleet Size And Mix Green Vehicle Routing Problem

In recent years, great efforts have been made to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by vehicles. Petroleum products produces greenhouse gas emissions, therefore reducing the use of these products can make a major contribution to reducing pollution. The Fleet Size and Mix Vehicle Routing Problem is one of the most widely used routing branches. In this problem, there are vehicle with different capac...

A Mixed Integer Programming Formulation for the Heterogeneous Fixed Fleet Open Vehicle Routing Problem

The heterogeneous fixed fleet open vehicle routing problem (HFFOVRP) is one of the most significant extension problems of the open vehicle routing problem (OVRP). The HFFOVRP is the problem of designing collection routes to a number of predefined nodes by a fixed fleet number of vehicles with various capacities and related costs. In this problem, the vehicle doesn’t return to the depot after se...

Alternative Formulations and Improved Bounds for the Multi-Depot Fleet Size and Mix Vehicle Routing

In this paper we model and solve the multi-depot fleet size and mix vehicle routing problem (MDFSMVRP). This problem extends the multi-depot vehicle routing problem and the fleet size and mix vehicle routing problem, two logistics problems that have been extensively studied for many decades. This difficult transportation problem combines complex assignment and routing decisions under the object...

A Comparison of NSGA II and MOSA for Solving Multi-depots Time-dependent Vehicle Routing Problem with Heterogeneous Fleet

Time-dependent Vehicle Routing Problem is one of the most applicable but least-studied variants of routing and scheduling problems. In this paper, a novel mathematical formulation of time-dependent vehicle routing problems with heterogeneous fleet, hard time widows and multiple depots, is proposed. To deal with the traffic congestions, we also considered that the vehicles are not forced to come...
